MFBPC created 22 Recommendations for changes to the Minneapolis police contract. Negotiations began in September 2023. After only 5 public sessions, an $18,000 per officer incentive was offered. MFBPC led a push to reject it, and the City Council rightfully voted it down for lacking any substantive reforms. The parties immediately went into closed mediation. WHY? To shut out the public from seeing if real reforms were taking place!
NOW, THEY HAVE REACHED A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT IN SECRET WITH 22% WAGE INCREASES!
If you’ve endorsed our 22 Recommendations – THANK YOU! If you haven’t, YOU ARE STILL NEEDED! Stand with City Council Members TO VOTE DOWN a contract WITHOUT REAL REFORMS! Endorse as INDIVIDUALS & ORGANIZATIONS if you live, work, or have connections to
Minneapolis.
